Positive Impact

Power of Progress

Make collective progress visible.

Transformation becomes more powerful when we can see the difference we're making together. RECfA brings individual projects, actions and achievements into one bigger picture, demonstrating the growing impact of academia's collective energy transition.

One institution at a time. One action at a time. One measure of collective progress.

From individual action to collective progress

That journey has already begun. RECfA is bringing institutions, technology, expertise and finance together around practical opportunities today, creating the foundations for SENfA to connect knowledge, energy data and shared value tomorrow.

In July 2026, RECfA participated in Wiltshire Council's Schools Solar Showcase, where more than 50 schools explored pathways to solar and battery deployment, with RECfA helping connect schools to technology providers, sustainability expertise and finance.

Practical action today. Connected transformation tomorrow.

RECfA impact could reach 1,500 organisations by the end of 2028

On current growth, 1,500 schools, colleges, trusts and universities could be connected to one collective energy transition within three years. Every institution that joins adds generation, storage and purchasing scale to the network, so the collective savings, resilience and carbon impact grow faster than the number of members itself.

How a college funded its LED retrofit with zero upfront cost

Inside a PPAs/EaaS deal that cut lighting energy use by 40% and paid for itself over ten years. The college put in no capital of its own: the funding partner owns the new lighting, the savings on the energy bill cover the repayments, and the estate keeps the difference once the term ends.
