About RECfA
A coalition built to help the education sector move on energy, together.
RECfA Home is the digital home of RECfA, a coalition connecting schools, colleges, universities, multi-academy trusts and their partners around one shared goal: turning individual energy action into collective progress. The site explains how the coalition works, how institutions can fund and deliver energy projects, which technologies make practical sense today, and what the connected energy network, SENfA, will make possible tomorrow.
Who this site is for
RECfA is written for the people who make energy decisions in education: headteachers, bursars, finance directors, estates and facilities managers, sustainability leads and vice-chancellors, along with the local authorities, trusts and professional bodies that support them. It is equally for the partners who deliver the work — solar and battery installers, energy consultants, architects, legal advisers and finance providers — who want to work with the sector in a clear and consistent way.
Who builds it
The site is built and maintained by the RECfA team, with content drawn from live projects across the sector rather than from theory. In July 2026, RECfA took part in Wiltshire Council's Schools Solar Showcase, helping more than 50 schools explore pathways to solar and battery deployment. On 4 November 2026 the coalition holds its first open gathering at MK College in Bletchley, bringing leaders from education, energy, finance and sustainability together to begin that shared journey in public.
What you will find here
Every section of the site answers a question an institution actually asks: who else is involved, where the money comes from, which technologies suit which estate, and what the results look like so far. If your question is not answered, we would like to hear it.
